And don’t let the cream of tartar stop you from making this recipe. The cream of tarter helps give a nice smooth consistency and also helps a bit with shelf life. But if you don’t have any cream of tartar around, you can skip the cream of tartar.
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup of warm water
- ⅓ cup of salt
- 1 T oil
- 2 t cream of tarter
- food coloring
- Combine all ingredients in a medium sized saucepan over medium low heat.
- Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until it forms a ball around the spoon.
- Take off of heat and place dough on the counter.
- When dough is cool enough to handle knead the dough a few times until it is smooth.
